WOSTOK'S "LAME WOLF" IN TIMISOARA
On 8th July 2017 we were on a short visit to Timisoara, the largest city of Banat with interesting architecture and cultural heritage. The reason for the visit is the Wostok exhibition "The Lame Wolf" and the presentation of our film "Vicko The Human", as well as the lecture in the Romanian of the university professor of Italian language Daniele Pantaleoni on the phenomenon of the comic book "Alan Ford" and its cultural influence in the post-Yugoslavian space and Italy. The exhibition of Danilo Milošev Wostok "The Lame Wolf" contains a comic strip by poem of Vasko Popa, a poet born in the village of Grebenac in the vicinity of Vršac, originally Romanian, but almost his entire opus is in Serbian (only some of his early poems are in Romanian), and comic strip by the fable of the most famous Serb from the area of today's Romanian state Dositej Obradović, born in Čakovo, a town in Romania. The exhibited works are partly independent work of the author, as well as collaborations with his former associates such as Grabowski, Nabor Devolac and Sanja S. The visitors were able to browse fanzin Krpelj, as well as other different editions of books and fanzines, and during the conversation with the author they could see the book "Robusto!!!" and hear something about that edition of Wostok's comic series translated into English and released on US soil in 2016 for the publishing house "Lovecraft House". The exhibition was held in the Timisoara's Club Scart Loc Lejer, which also has a kind of museum in its basement (video), and was organized by Goran Mrakić from the Association of Serbs in Romania.
